What do 100,000 and Girl Scouts have in common?

Well I am glad you asked! TODAY is a most wonderful day in history and I bet NONE of you knew it.

I was driving home today after school/clinic and after yoga was canceled when all of a sudden I look down to notice my odometer. It read 99994 as I was taking off for home.

**A girl today in class said she decided to start her diet and then her Girl Scout cookies came in and she is trying to get rid of them. I bought one Thin Mints and one Samoa and received the shortbread box for free!! **

So I am exiting 114 West on the President George Bush Turnpike. Crossing under the over pass to turn left onto 161 South and then it happened.... My odometer turns to "100,000"!!!!! And all the while I am eating my OHH so delicious Thin Mints, that's right THIN MINTS!!!
I called and talked to my dad while it turned the memorable 100,000. Only fitting since it is because of him and my mom I have that car.

So now you know why this day is famous in history and how Girl Scouts and 100,000 have something in common! How crazy would that be if someone else in the world had a story of 100,000 and Girl Scouts to share? Let me know!!

Also this week I received the Atchley Scholarship from the New Mexico Chiropractic Association for $500. That will definitely help out with the $1,025 for Part IV Boards.

AND I get to see Andrew every day and my two sisters (Mandy and Jessica) are both pregnant so I will be a double Auntie Allison!! Life is so grand all at once!

Mandy is my "sister" because we grew up together in church and have known each other since, well, birth. Her to be exact because I was born in July '82 and she in January '83

Aunt and Bridesmaid all in one!

My sister is getting married to Steve May 13th this year in Hobbs, NM. He was born in TX but they met in Las Cruces, NM at work. He and she are here in Dallas with me and are getting excited and planning for the big day!

Back in December my sister told me she was pregnant and I was going to be an AUNT!!! I was so excited, esp. because I could finally get my first pregnant patient to adjust throughout pregnancy, YIPEE!!

We went today to her second ultrasound appointment and found out she is farther along that planned. She is 17 weeks (according to the computer) and is due at the end of July (maybe my b-day ;) ;) wink, wink) And also we were able to see his little peepee on the ultrasound.

I was so amazed at the whole thing. You saw his little heart valves flapping away and moving and then you saw his whole spine and ribs. I was so excited. I told Jessica that she has to ask for a picture of his spine next visit for me. :) You can't tell me there isn't life before birth after seeing that. NO WAY!!!

If you have never had the experience, I STRONGLY urge you to go to an OB/GYN and ask to sit in on one, if the mother doesn't mind. It is truly amazing!

This isn't her baby boy, just a pic off the internet to show. Definitely means more when you can see things move!!!

The day of Valens and tines...

hearts stuck on a window with a curtain in front of them.
So this day has been one like New Years Eve; you wish you could spend it with the one you love and have that "oh so romantic" moment in time to reflect on each year, but your life just isn't meant to be that way. This February 14th will be one of the very few love days I will get to make those memories!

This is a happy blog because I have a love that has sacrificed and flew with a whip of hope to move here to be with me. Things like this don't happen in my life and, honestly, I think that if I am not careful enough it will all fly away again as gently as it came.

My boyfriend, Andrew, and I have been off and on for about 5 years now. There have been some trying times, exciting/fun/entertaining times, and all in all learning and growing times. We have a new phase this time because commitment is in both of our lives not just one.

So I am excited to start a new phase in my life of not having to "wish" on the romantic times that will not be, but to be a part of romantic times that will. What a crazy place to be in.

Honestly, never thought my life would ever turn out in any spectacular way.....
