New Year, new life, and getting sick?!

So what usually happens this time of year and to most of you is already happening? Getting sick and snotty and coughing. Now the instinct response would seem to run to the MD and get a prescription or to detour the MD and pick up OTC (over the counter) drugs to "prevent" and help relieve the symptoms coming on.
Can I please have you resist this "instinct."

Chiropractic works with the nervous system in your spine and THROUGHOUT your whole body along with the vascular system. Your nervous system has a DIRECT connection with your immune system as well, THIS is because your nervous system has a DIRECT connection with the organs of your immune system. Your nervous system is protected by your skull, spinal bones called vertebrae, and your ribs. A misalignment (we call a subluxation) of these bones and other bones can cause a decrease in function of the nervous system and in effect a decrease in function of the organs of your body and your IMMUNE SYSTEM!

PAIN is the last symptom to appear but the FIRST symptom to go away with chiropractic care! This is why it is important to keep going AFTER the pain is gone, because your body is still out of alignment, subluxated. Ask a Chiropractor how often he/she gets an adjustment to stay well and prevent sickness and promote health. Most will tell you they get seen at least once a week, and when feeling sick will get seen more often, because of all people THEY know how important chiropractic is to improving the immune system and everyday bodily function.

Also there are vitamins and minerals that help with you immune system. Vitamin A, C, E, Zinc and Selenium are all great in boosting the immune system. Most of us know about Vit. C and take more and more of this when we feel we are getting sick. It was recommended to me, when sick, to take 50,000IU of A and 100mg of Zinc (but eat something before you take Zinc as it can make you feel nauseous). When I recommend this to my patients their response is, "I am drinking tons of orange juice and suking down vitamin C like crazy."

Let me put it to you this way.....
There are many things to protect you inside your home from burglars and others trying to break into your home such as locks, alarms, guns, etc. Now if you felt like you were getting broken into but it just hasn't fully happened yet, you make sure you lock all your locks on your doors and windows and maybe go out and buy some more locks just to have extra strength. Why not give yourself all of these defenses, the alarms and locks and guns, etc. to protect yourself?
Taking Vit. C helps but why not take MORE to help boost that protection, such as Vit. A and E and Zinc?

Regular chiropractic adjustments are like having a cop on your curb and one in the alley to stop the destructive things that are trying to get in. Nutrition is like the locks and alarms on your house when the cops are distracted and miss that one bad guy. Things such as stress, toxins, and trauma are what can "distract the cops," or misalign your bones and cause subluxations. Hence the decrease in defense, or immunity, and the more nutrients and protection you need. To help prevent these "distractions" from effecting your body, you need adjustments to keep things aligned and flowing properly.

So for the New Year, new life and NO sickness - please go see your local Chiropractor today!!

Blessings on your New year, and your new life with chiropractic!

The North Shore

This was some sites from traveling around and also at the North Shore. This is where the BIG waves come and people surf around. So beautiful and the waves were so much fun. No we didn't surf, it was too rough, so we laid out and played on the shore. [had to go home with a tan, I mean, come on. :) ]

Lanaki Beach

The most beautiful beach in the world! It's that picture perfect "movie" scene of a beach and the ocean. A native man, skiny as ever, came and told us some of the people who owned the houses on that beach, actors and actresses. Can't remember whom they were because the beach was more important.

So how it works is you drive to Lanaki and take a few side roads headed towards the beach, you are in the neighborhoods -k- All you see is greenery and gorgeous houses all close together. No side walks for parking.

There are random inlets between houses for you to walk through to get to the beach, that's the only way you see this wonderous site. And then you are there!!!.... here..... enjoy......

Day two of Hawai'i

Scuba diving was today! We first played in the ocean while Marki and Michael took scuba "discovery" lessons, then all drove out and went diving. These are pictures of such.
Don't they just look cute after our outing in the PACIFIC OCEAN?!

Oh... and on our way back.... we saw TONS of rainbows!!! Amazing, maybe that's why their license plates have a rainbow on them. {just a side note how the same number of letters in rainbow, are the same number of colors IN a rainbow! freakin. sweet!} - be honest, how many of you knew that before now? Am I really that slow?

By the way, I WAS IN HAWAI'I!!!
